Changelog

Meet Agents: an AI teammate that keeps work moving

Agents handle the routine work that slows your team down, so jobs keep moving even when everyone is busy. They replace the assistant: instead of a one-off conversation that ends when you close the chat, an agent keeps working on the tasks you give it.

What Agents can do

  • Answer and book: Reply to new leads by text or chat, answer common questions, and book jobs right into open calendar slots.

  • Follow up for you: Check in on estimates that haven't been approved and invoices that haven't been paid, on a schedule you choose.

  • Keep customers updated: Send arrival times, delays, and job-complete messages automatically.

  • Hand off when it matters: Pass tricky conversations to a CSR, with the full conversation attached.

  • And more, made for your business: Tell an agent what you need in plain words, and change its instructions anytime as your business changes.

Know what every job really costs you

What's new

See whether every job is making money

Owners and admins can now see how each job is doing. The new Job costing tab on every job shows revenue, labor pay, materials and your margin.

  • Labor pay: worked out from your team's appointment status updates and hourly wages, including overtime at 1.5x after 40 hours a week and double time at 2x after 12 hours a day. Select a row to open that day's timesheet.

  • Materials: add an Internal cost to your price book items, or use Add cost on the Job costing tab for anything else, to see what the job really costs you.

To get started: open a job → Job costing. Set hourly rates in Settings → Team management and internal costs in your price book.

Only owners and admins can see job costing and internal costs. Daily overtime rules for California, Alaska, Nevada and Colorado aren't included yet.

Fixes

  • Texts sent to your business number from short codes, like verification codes, now show up in Onsite instead of being dropped.

  • Signing in with Apple works again.

  • In the Web app, the accounting screens now match the rest of Onsite, in light and dark mode.

Get from estimate to paid in fewer steps

What's new

Book the job right after you win the estimate

Estimates and invoices have a cleaner layout, with shortcuts for the steps right after a customer says yes.

  • Schedule from a won estimate: tap Schedule an appointment on any won estimate.

  • Know when they sign: when a customer signs in the Customer portal, the estimate won notification lets you schedule right away.

  • See what they see: Preview customer copy shows the estimate exactly as your customer will.

  • Clear dates on invoices: each invoice shows when it was sent and when it's due.

  • Set payment terms once: pick a default Due date in Settings → Estimates & invoices and it applies to every new invoice.

Give customers a discount on estimates and invoices

You can now add a discount to any estimate or invoice, as a dollar amount or a percentage. Add a short note like "Summer sale" so your customer knows what it's for. The discount shows on the PDF and in the Customer portal.

Add your terms and conditions to estimates and invoices

You can now add your terms and conditions to estimates and invoices. Customers see them on the PDF and in the Customer portal before they sign or pay.

To get started: go to Settings → Estimates & invoices → Terms and conditions.

Terms apply to new estimates and invoices only, not ones you've already created.

What's improved

Ask the assistant to add a discount

You can now ask the assistant to add a discount to an estimate or invoice, or change who sold a won estimate. Try "take 10% off this estimate". You review the change before it saves. The assistant can also add a new customer under an existing account.

Ask the assistant to call a customer

You can now ask the assistant to call a customer. Say or type "call Henderson" and it finds the right contact.

  • In text chat: the assistant shows the number with a Call button, so nothing dials until you tap it.

  • By voice on mobile: it tells you who it's calling, ends the voice chat and dials. Speak up during the goodbye to cancel.

Update the Mobile app to place calls by voice.

See who sold each estimate and the customer's signature

You can now record which team member sold each estimate, so you can see who closed the sale. Won estimates also show the customer's signature.

Find all your estimates and invoices on mobile

In the Mobile app, you can now see all your estimates and all your invoices in one list each, without opening every job.

To get started: tap More → Estimates or Invoices. Available to admins and owners.

Copy a link to any estimate

You can now copy a link to any estimate and text or email it however you like, the same as invoices.

Mark an invoice paid without sending it

You can now mark an invoice as paid without sending it first. Handy when the customer already paid on site.

Estimate and invoice statuses are easier to follow

In Onsite and the Customer portal, estimate and invoice statuses now follow one simple path. Invoices go from Draft to Open to Paid.

Pick up any assistant chat where you left off

In the Mobile app, start a chat from a job and keep going in the Assistant tab. It's one conversation now, wherever you open it. Your first approval in a voice conversation also goes through now.

Fixes

  • In the Web app, clicking Recents in the assistant now takes you back to your past chats from an open conversation.

  • The assistant now books appointments that overlap existing ones, the same as the apps, and gives you a heads-up about the overlap.

  • Syncing to Tight now keeps working when your Tight connection needs to refresh, instead of failing with an error.

  • Customers with the same name now sync to Tight. Onsite adds a unique ID to the end of the name in Tight so each one stays separate.

See which lead sources bring in work

What's new

Track where your jobs come from with lead sources

You can now tag each customer and job with a lead source, like a referral or an ad. See which sources bring in the most work.

To get started: go to Settings → Lead sources.

  • Tag customers and jobs: pick a Lead source when you add or edit a customer or job.

  • See what pays off: open a lead source to see calls, jobs booked, won estimates, revenue and paid invoices.

  • Keep the list tidy: archive sources you no longer use.

Ask the assistant which lead sources pay off

You can now ask the assistant how your lead sources and price book items are doing. Try "Which lead sources are performing best?" or "What price book items do I use most?"

  • Lead sources: see which sources perform best, with the same numbers as your Lead sources settings.

  • Price book: see which items you add most to estimates and invoices, and how much you've invoiced for each.

What's improved

See why a call can't start in the Web app

In the Web app, if your browser is blocking the microphone, you now see a message when you make or answer a call. It tells you how to turn microphone access back on.

Fixes

  • The assistant now shows its real answer in long chats instead of an internal summary.

  • You can now attach photos to a text sent to a number that isn't saved as a customer.

  • On iPhone, assistant messages now send with your last autocorrect applied, and the message box clears after you send.

  • Team member avatars are now round and sized the same way across the app.

See everything about a job in one place

What's new

See who did what on every job

Each job now has an Activity feed that shows every change and who made it: you, your crew, your customer or the assistant.

  • Appointments: scheduled, rescheduled, assigned, dispatched, started and completed.

  • Notes and files: notes in full, photo thumbnails and attachment names.

  • Estimates and invoices: sent, viewed, signed, edited and paid, with amounts.

The feed starts from Sep 3, so older jobs show changes from that day on.

Jump to any part of a job in one tap

In the Mobile app, the job screen is now split into tabs: Appointments, Notes, Media, Attachments, Estimates, Invoices and Activity. Tap a tab to see just what you need.

  • Add from any tab: tap the add button and pick Appointment, Note, Media, Attachment, Estimate or Invoice without switching tabs.

  • Assistant on every job: tap the assistant button to ask the assistant without leaving the job.

Check your payment rates and setup in Settings

You can now see your card and bank payment rates and where your payment setup stands, all in one place.

To get started: go to Settings → Payment processing. If you haven't finished, tap Set up payments or Continue setup.

What's improved

Update your name and photo in Settings

You can now change your name and profile photo yourself.

To get started: go to Settings → Profile, edit your name or tap Replace photo. Changing your email isn't available yet.

Join your team without hunting for the invite email

Invited team members can now accept their invite right in the app. Sign in with the email you were invited with, and your pending invite shows up so you can join in one step.

Keep the Continue button in reach during setup

In the Mobile app, the keyboard now has a Done key during sign-up and payment setup, and Continue stays at the bottom of the form instead of riding on the keyboard.

Set up payments and keep job details organized

What's new

Set up payment processing without leaving Onsite

You can now apply for payment processing right inside Onsite. Enter your business, owner and bank details, upload your documents and sign, all in one guided form.

To get started: tap Set up payment processing on your getting-started checklist.

  • Choose who pays fees: pass card and bank fees to your customers, absorb them, or pass on card fees only.

Attach photos and files to job notes

You can now add photos and files to a note on a job. They show right inside the note, and photos also appear in the job's Media section.

Manage your Onsite subscription in Settings

Account owners can now manage their Onsite subscription in the Web app. See how many jobs are left in your free trial, upgrade to a paid plan, update the card on file and view past invoices.

To get started: go to Settings → Subscription.

Only the account owner sees Subscription. When your free trial runs out, you can still see your work, take calls and collect payments, but you'll need to upgrade to add new jobs.

What's improved

Find everything on a job faster in the Web app

The job page in the Web app has a new layout. Appointments, notes, media, attachments, estimates and invoices each get their own card, and a menu on the right jumps you to any section.

  • Add from one place: use the add button at the top of the job, or the + on any section.

  • Files sorted for you: photos and videos sit in Media, other files in Attachments.

  • Less clutter: empty sections explain what goes there for your first few visits, then shrink to a title and a +.

Catch duplicate customers before you create them

When you add a new customer, Onsite now checks the phone number and email as you type. If they already belong to a customer, you'll see Duplicate contact info and can tap View customer to open the existing record instead of creating a second one.

Fixes

  • Small color updates across Onsite, and a new welcome screen when you finish signing up on mobile.

Customize customer messages and print documents

What's new

Edit your appointment confirmations and reminders

You can now edit the wording of appointment confirmations and reminders, for both texts and emails. Add details like your customer's name or the appointment time with one click, and go back to the original wording anytime.

To get started: go to Settings → Customer communications → Appointment confirmations or Appointment reminders → Edit message.

  • Insert a field: drop in the date, time, location and more.

  • Reset to default: restores the original wording.

  • Send test: see the message before your customers do.

Print estimates and invoices

You can now print estimates and invoices. The printout matches the PDF your customer gets.

To get started: open an estimate or invoice → ⋮ → Print estimate or Print invoice.

  • Pick estimates: if there's more than one estimate, choose the ones you want, then tap Print.

  • Any status: print open, sent, won or paid documents.

  • On mobile: the PDF opens in your browser, where you can print it.

Sign up and get set up from your phone or computer

You can now sign up for Onsite right in the Mobile app. The Web app now has the same setup checklist as mobile, so new accounts see their first steps wherever they start.

  • Sign up on your phone: verify your email, add your business details and hours, and set up your business phone number in the Mobile app.

  • Setup checklist on the web: your dashboard lists tasks like Invite team members, Get set up to text (A2P) and Book my first job.

  • Add your photo: take a selfie or upload a photo for your profile picture. It shows in Onsite and in some customer messages, and you can change it later.

What's improved

Forgotten clock-outs end at 11:59 PM

Anyone still clocked in at 11:59 PM local time is now clocked out automatically, and any active break ends too. A forgotten clock-out no longer runs into the next day. This works for businesses in U.S. and Canadian time zones.

Fixes

  • The date range you pick on Timesheets now stays when you open a team member's timesheet.

  • When you ask the assistant to book a job, it now uses only appointment types your company offers, so approving the job goes through.

  • The time clock on the Mobile app home screen has a cleaner layout.

Track your crew's time and pay with less work

What's new

See each team member's pay on timesheets

Timesheets now show Total pay for each team member, worked out from their hours and hourly rate.

  • Set a rate: go to Settings → Team management, open a member and enter their Hourly rate.

  • Paid time off the job: non-job events with a paid timesheet code count toward hours and pay.

  • See every change: Update history shows who changed a rate and when.

Only owners and admins can see or change rates.

Clock in and out by asking the assistant

You can now ask the assistant to run your time clock, by text or by voice. Say "clock me in", "start my lunch" or "am I still clocked in?" from the truck, hands-free.

  • Your hours: ask to see your timesheet for a day or a week.

  • For owners and admins: check the team's timesheets, fix a punch, add a break or a manual entry, and manage timesheet codes.

  • Same rules as the app: team members can only see and change their own time, and only if time keeping is on for them.

What's improved

See job activity on each timesheet day

A team member's timesheet day now shows their job activity next to their clock punches: when they were dispatched, began work and completed each job, plus breaks and non-job calendar events. Each job row links to its appointment, so you can check a day at a glance.

Log missed hours on days with no clock punches

You can now add a manual time entry on a day that has job activity but no clock punches, like when a tech forgot to clock in.

To get started: open the day on the timesheet → ⋮ → Add a manual entry.

Pick a softer ringtone for incoming calls

In the Mobile app, there are 2 new, softer ringtones, Synthos and Zone, and Fannypack is now quieter. Synthos is the new default. Cubicle and Flip Phone have been removed.

To get started: Settings → Sounds & haptics → Ringtone.

Fixes

  • Manual time entries can no longer overlap an existing entry, so hours are never counted twice.

  • Small layout improvements to the Add menu on the Schedule in the Web app.
