How S&K Painting Runs Two Family Businesses Onsite
Jacob Levine

Founder & CEO

The Challenge
For most painting companies, the hardest part isn't the painting. It's everything around it.
A homeowner wants kitchen cabinets refinished before the holidays. A general contractor needs a unit repainted between tenants. Someone calls about an epoxy garage floor and wants a number by Friday. Each job means a quote to build, a crew to brief, and a customer to keep in the loop.
If one of those slips, the calendar backs up for weeks.
S&K Painting is a family-run company in Warren, Ohio, handling interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, and epoxy floor coatings. Julie Jones Plymale runs the office alongside her brother Steve, with a trusted group of subcontracted painters in the field.
S&K isn't the only business on Julie's plate. She also helps run All Clean Septic, the family's septic cleaning company. Two businesses meant two systems, two logins, and two phones in her pocket.
The Opportunity
Julie didn't come to Onsite for S&K. She came for All Clean Septic.
About two weeks into running septic jobs Onsite, she reached out with a question: could the painting company come over too?
S&K had run on DripJobs since the business first moved off paper triplicate forms. Over time the app got slower on her phone, and running S&K kept pulling her back to a desk. She wanted a way to:
Run both businesses without juggling separate phones and logins
Keep each company's customers, numbers, and pricing fully separate
Move years of DripJobs history without losing a contact or an open quote
Give crews what they need for the job without exposing pricing
Without starting over from scratch.
The Solution
Leaving a tool you've used for years usually means a lost month of migration. S&K's move was handled by Onsite Agents.
Julie exported her data from DripJobs and handed over the file. Onsite Agents mapped it into S&K's new account, including:
30,000 Customer contacts
75,000 Past jobs and revenue history
100 Open quotes
50 Won jobs already booked months out
Julie reviewed how everything landed and signed off. 30,000 customer records and 100 open quotes came across, and S&K was running live jobs in 1 day. Instead of re-keying years of history, Julie's only job was to check the work.
Two Businesses, One Login
Before Onsite, Julie carried two phones: one for S&K, one for All Clean Septic. Keeping the businesses apart meant keeping the devices apart.
Now both companies live under a single Onsite login. Julie switches between S&K and All Clean Septic in a tap, and each one keeps its own customers, phone number, price book, and branded estimates.
A painting customer never shows up on the septic schedule. A septic invoice never goes out under the S&K name.
It feels less like managing two systems and more like walking between two offices in the same building.
Built for Family-Run Trades
Family businesses in the trades rarely stop at one. A septic company leads to a painting company, and the same few people end up running both.
Onsite lets operators like Julie run several trades businesses from one place while keeping each one's customers, books, and brand its own. The more the merrier!
