How JTB Electric Documents Every Job Hands-Free with Onsite
Jacob Levine

Founder & CEO

The Challenge
JTB Electric is run by Jake Burns, who has spent about 16 years working the same buildings across Palm Beach and Broward counties. Jake built JTB on referrals and repeat commercial accounts, covering residential, commercial, and new construction work.
A typical day can mean four or five stops, then a long evening turning photos and scratch notes into proposals and invoices. Job site documentation has always been a key part of his workflow, but most times felt like an inconvenience that distracted from the work in front of him.
The Opportunity
Jake wasn't trying to change how he did the work. He wanted fewer tools between the work and his customers.
For years he'd used CompanyCam to photo-log every stop, with timestamps and locations that inspectors trusted. But it had become his biggest software bill, the price climbed as his job count grew, and it only covered one slice of the day. Estimates still lived in Excel templates and a free ChatGPT account.
He wanted a way to:
Capture photos and video without stopping to pull out his phone
Keep notes, media, and estimates on the same job record
Get proposals out faster, because a slow quote reads as a disorganized shop
Get found by more of the right customers without paying for ads
Without complicating his workflow or compromising his customer’s experience.
The Solution
Jake moved JTB to Onsite in February 2026, replacing CompanyCam with one system for scheduling, his business line, estimates, invoicing, payments, and job media.
The biggest change came when he put on a pair of Meta AI glasses. Onsite is the first field service platform with a native Meta AI glasses integration, so Jake can say "Hey Onsite" and work the job record hands-free:
Snap photos of a panel or a run
Record a video walkthrough of finished work
Dictate job notes in audio mode
Start an estimate by describing the scope out loud
Everything lands on the right job, timestamped, without his phone leaving his pocket.
Jake now treats the truck as his office. The paperwork that used to wait for the evening happens between stops.
Proof on Every Job
Documentation used to mean stopping mid-task, climbing down, and pulling out a phone. On a roof or in an attic, that isn't just slow. It's risky.
Now Jake records while his hands stay on the work. Photos and walkthrough videos post straight to the job, ready for an inspector, a GC, or an out-of-town homeowner who wants to see it's done. When a customer calls months later, the record is already there.
Estimates Before the Day Ends
Jake has always known his numbers. The bottleneck was getting them onto a proposal.
With audio mode, he talks through the scope on site and Onsite turns it into an estimate built on his price book, with the photos he picks attached. Notes from the walkthrough sit on the same record, so nothing gets lost between the job and the quote.
Proposals that used to wait for the evening now go out the same day or before he leaves the driveway, improving his close rate by 15%.
Built for Electrical Contractors
Electrical work runs on documentation, from inspections to warranty calls to the GC who needs proof before the next trade moves in.
Onsite helps contractors like JTB Electric safely capture that proof hands-free and turn it into estimates, invoices, and social content without a second app or thought.
