Onsite Partners with Powerhouse Consulting Group to Shape the Future of Fieldwork

Jacob Levine

Founder & CEO

Onsite is partnering with Powerhouse Consulting Group, the preeminent technology consulting practice in the skilled trades. Through Contractor Resource Planning, Powerhouse audits a shop's entire tech stack and acts as the fractional CTO most contractors don't have. Together we're exploring what the next generation of trades technology looks like in the age of AI: wearables, agent deployment, and the part nobody has concretely solved yet, which is how the enterprise learns to work alongside all of it.

Nobody Gets a Manual

Powerhouse found that 70% percent of contractors have no technology implementation plan. That is not a story about contractors. It's a story about an industry that sold systems faster than it taught them.

For fifteen years the hard part was getting someone to use the software. That's ending, and what replaces it runs the other direction. These tools don't need you to operate them. They need you to direct them.

A system you operate rewards the fastest hands. A system you direct rewards the clearest head.

A tech in a crawlspace has two hands and both are busy. Glasses don't ask him to stop and type. An agent works every unsold estimate exactly as configured, including the wrong thing, at scale. Old software punished shops that were sloppy with data entry. New software punishes shops that are unclear about what they want.

Which is why this belongs inside Contractor Resource Planning. CRP produces the one thing these tools require and no vendor can hand you: a clear account of what you want your business to do. Finish the audit and you're ready for an agent. Skip it and you're about to automate a mess.

"Our clients need to know which tools will still be earning their place in three years, and right now that is a hard question to answer honestly. Onsite was built for where this work is going instead of where it has been, and we want our CRP clients in front of it early."

Some of what we ship this year will be wrong, and the contractor carries that risk. So we'd rather stand alongside Jenny and her team, who were serving contractors before trades software was a category.

Together we're putting Meta AI glasses on real crews solving hard technical problems, deploying agents at enterprise scale, and working out the human side of adoption that nobody has mapped yet.

None of this comes with a manual. It's being written right now, and we're honored to co-author it with Powerhouse.

Onwards,
Jacob
